Scripwise Margin Percentages feature provides you information on Initial Margin Percentage that will be blocked once you take NSE F&O position in the underlying scrip.

What does Scrip Margins indicate?
Let's take an example. Let's suppose you wish to buy a Futures contract for ACC and wish to know how much amount will be blocked from your account initially.

Now, when you browse the given table, you will find the exposure percentage for ACC is 17%. Assuming the lot size as 100 and current LTP as 6000, the initial margin would be:

Initial Margin = (Lot Size * LTP) * (Initial Margin)

=> (100*6000) * 17% = 102000.

Thus, the initial margin that will be blocked is 102000 Rs. (Brokerage charges ignored).


Scrip Margins Details
The details displayed in Scrip-wise Margin Percentages in NSE report include:

  • Exchange - This field will display the exchange name.
  • Scrip Name - This field will display the underlying name.
  • Margin Percentage (Carry Forward) - This field will display the margin percentage blocked for taking positions in the contracts of given underlying in normal (Carry Forward).
  • Margin Percentage (Intraday) - This field will display the margin percentage blocked for taking positions in the contracts of given underlying in Intraday. Note! This field will only be visible to those clients who have opted for Intraday futures product.
